Proud to Announce the Promotion of Cindy Marsh to Controller

In this new role, Cindy will oversee the bank’s accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring the strength, accuracy, and integrity of our financial operations.

As Controller, Cindy will play a vital role in supporting both daily operations and long-term strategy. Her responsibilities include preparing detailed financial reports for the Board of Directors and regulatory agencies, filing the bank’s quarterly Call Report, analyzing loan and deposit mix, assisting with rate structure recommendations, leading the month-end closing process, and managing a wide range of general accounting and reporting duties.

While much of her work happens behind the scenes, its impact is felt throughout the entire organization. Accurate reporting, thoughtful analysis, and strong financial oversight help ensure Heritage Bank remains well-positioned to serve our Neighbors with excellence for years to come.

A Journey Rooted in Growth and Leadership

Cindy’s journey into finance began nearly 20 years ago in the consumer finance industry right here in Lebanon, Missouri. Over the course of her career, she steadily grew through multiple roles, from Branch Manager to Auditor, and eventually into a corporate-level leadership position. In that role, she worked alongside executive teams to support operational success and strengthen the communities they served.

Each chapter sharpened her leadership abilities, deepened her knowledge of financial systems, and reinforced her commitment to serving customers with integrity, accountability, and a people-first mindset.

Coming Home to Heritage

“For years, every time I drove past Heritage Bank, it felt like home,” Cindy shares.

In 2024, she decided to step away from corporate life and return to the community she deeply missed. That leap of faith brought her back to local banking and to Heritage Bank.

Working locally reignited her passion. The relationships. The shared successes. The opportunity to pour back into a community where neighbors truly support one another.

“Working for a company that places God, community, and customers above the bottom line is rare in today’s business environment,” Cindy says. “Community truly is everything to me, and this alignment of values is one of the reasons I feel so honored and privileged to serve here.”

Her transition into the Controller role allows her to combine her corporate-level expertise with her love for community banking while strengthening the foundation that allows Heritage Bank to continue making local decisions with local impact.

Beyond the Office

Outside of work, Cindy’s greatest joy is her family, especially her granddaughter, who recently celebrated her first birthday. She enjoys hiking, cooking, and photography, and considers herself a devoted coffee lover (though she also appreciates a good cup of hot tea).

An early bird by nature, Cindy views each morning as a reminder of purpose and gratitude. Fall is her favorite season, drawn to the crisp air, vibrant colors, and what she describes as “God painting His canvas.”

She also enjoys podcasts, particularly The Shawn Ryan Show, and is currently watching The Pitt. Medical and detective shows have always been a favorite.
