Candy Ritter - Deposit Operations Specialist

We are proud to announce Candy Ritter's transition into the role of Deposit Operations Specialist.

While Candy is stepping into a new role, her commitment to serving people is anything but new. Throughout a career that has taken her through management, customer service, logistics, and transportation, one thing has remained constant: Candy has always been a people person.

She genuinely enjoys getting to know others, helping them through challenges, and finding ways to make their day a little better.

"I have always been in some form of the customer relations field. I love folks. I love getting to know them, but more importantly, in my heart I know God designed me to love people," Candy says.

That belief has shaped both her career and the way she approaches life.

"We all need a little flicker sometimes when our candles are low, and I think that's my thing. Be the flicker for folks when our days get tough."

Now, Candy is bringing that same heart for people and her years of experience to Deposit Operations, where she will play an important role in supporting the systems and processes that help keep customers' deposit accounts running smoothly.

Candy's career path has never followed a single straight line. Instead, it has given her experience in a variety of industries and leadership positions, each teaching her something different about people, problem-solving, and service.

She has spent much of her career in management, including positions in the restaurant industry, as a supervisor for a large shipping and receiving distribution warehouse, and as a fleet manager for a trucking company. Each position came with its own challenges, but also some of her greatest rewards.

"My career path has always led me to the toughest of positions at times, but some of the greatest rewards," she says.

Candy jokes that the old saying "chief, cook and bottle washer" describes her pretty well.

Her willingness to jump in, learn what needs to be learned, and take care of whatever is in front of her has served her well throughout her career. Those same qualities are valuable in Deposit Operations, where accuracy, organization, communication, and attention to detail are essential.

"People is all I know, and I am so thankful for the journey."

For Candy, joining Heritage Bank is also part of a much bigger story.

She was born and raised in Lebanon, and many of her children and grandchildren still live in the community. After spending time away, the pull to come home became stronger.

Her daughter eventually put the feeling into words. "Mom, you guys need to sell your home and get back home." They did just that.

Today, Candy and her husband are enjoying what she describes as a simpler life back in the community she has always considered home. The hectic pace of city life and stressful jobs has given way to family, community, and a renewed opportunity to serve others.

"So here we are living our simple life. No more stressful jobs and hectic city traffic. Just living life, loving our family and serving folks as God sees fit."

For Candy, joining Heritage Bank is a natural extension of that philosophy.

"And what better way than to help our Neighbors day to day with their financial needs and concerns?"

Much of the work performed in Deposit Operations happens behind the scenes, but it is essential to the banking experience our customers rely on every day. This department helps support the accuracy and efficiency of customer accounts and the processes surrounding deposits and other account activity. The work requires careful attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to getting things right.

Candy's extensive background in customer service and management gives her a unique perspective as she takes on this role. She understands that even when customers may not see the work happening behind the scenes, they depend on it being handled accurately and efficiently.

Her focus on people, combined with her experience managing complex responsibilities, makes her a strong addition to the Deposit Operations team.

If you ask Candy about her favorite things, there is no mistaking her personality.

She is proudly an early bird and has a saying that sums up her approach to the day: "I get more done by 9 a.m. in the morning than most folks do all day."

Fall is her favorite season, and she enjoys the traditions and atmosphere that come with it. She also loves to sing, bake, and serve others whenever she feels called to do so.

Her faith is an important part of her life, and when asked about her favorite book, her answer is simple: the Bible.

When it comes to movies, Candy has a soft spot for old classics. She and her family enjoy many of the films from years past, and she admits she isn't a big fan of today's style of entertainment.

And if you want to sit down and visit with Candy, there is a good chance you'll find a glass of tea nearby.

"I love it at Heritage Bank. Everyone has been so good to me."

And she plans to be here for a long time.

"I will be here till I decide to sit on the porch someday and just drink tea."

We are excited to have Candy stepping into her new role as Deposit Operations Specialist and look forward to the experience, energy, and heart she will bring to Heritage Bank.

Please join us in congratulating Candy Ritter. We are grateful to have her serving our neighbors at Heritage Bank.
